Clinical Supervision
Clinical supervision can help you to engage in self-care practises and regular self reflection.
Your Optimism supervisor will be a supportive professional who can help you with clinical decision making, enhance your evidence-based practise and also supports you in managing the emotional toll of working with clinically complex and trauma based presentations.
Engagement in regular clinical supervision can support you with:
Skill development, providing a structured and supportive environment for you to enhance your skills, interventions and overall clinical competence.
The emotional impact of delivering treatment including heightened emotional responses, such as sadness, anger, or anxiety, as you empathise with your clients experiences.
Case conceptualisation, helping you to deliver care supported by CBT or EMDR framework.
Potential comparison fatigue or burnout which can be a completely normal experience when you are continually exposed to difficult or traumatic content, you may feel emotionally drained, overwhelmed, or have a reduced capacity for empathy.
Professional and personal growth, providing a safe reflective space to consider your own reactions, bias and personal triggers particularly when working with complex presentations or trauma narratives that resonate with your own experiences.
Boundary challenges, which can sometimes feel difficult to maintain when working with trauma survivors or clients living with complex mental health presentations.
What We Offer
We offer individual or group supervision to clinicians practicing EMDR, CBT, IPT or counselling support. We recommend you attend supervision 4-6 weekly, but can also support adhoc supervision requests when discussed. We can support you with continued practice whether you are newly qualified, working towards accreditation or experienced. We appreciate the importance of choosing the right supervisor, so offer a free 15 minute meet and greet with your chosen supervisor prior to you booking with them.
